Wood Cross, UT
8-year-old Leland dreams of chasing the checkered flag. He’s a true speed demon who loves fast cars and auto racing. Diagnosed with autism at an early age, Leland’s speech was severely delayed, which put the brakes on even basic communication.
Since receiving a grant from UHCCF that made speech therapy possible. Leland has made remarkable progress. His mom is thrilled he can now let her know when something hurts and, just as important, when it’s time for snuggles. Because of his amazing work ethic and how detail-oriented he is, Leland’s mom can see him working the pits for a race team some day. Go, Leland!
