Kicking off the year-long 10,000 Smiles Campaign, UnitedHealth Group employees rallied to celebrate the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF’s) 10,000th Grant Award Milestone. Employees had the opportunity to hear from their local leaders, visit with grant children, enjoy treats, and learn more about UHCCF. These are just two of the many informative events being hosted for UHCCF by volunteers at sites nationwide as part of the UnitedHealth Group Employee Giving Campaign. Take a moment to watch this video that captures the employee spirit and Our United Culture at work.
Since 2007, UHCCF has awarded 10,000 grants valued at more than $29 million to children and their families across the United States. The 10,000th grant was received by a Jacksonville, Florida family who used the grant to help pay for updated hearing aids for their 5-year-old twin boys. The boys, Cole and Jake, were diagnosed with hearing loss at just over a year old, and have been wearing hearing aids ever since. To support UHCCF’s mission to significantly increase the clinical condition or quality of life of the children it serves, the Foundation plans a year-long awareness campaign to help spread the word about its medical grant program so that more families can apply and receive grants.
