| David S. Hefner, M.P.A. | Mr. Hefner has more than 30 years experience in the health care industry as both a health system CEO and a healthcare consultant. Mr. Hefner is currently serving on a variety of health reform issues with the AAMC. Over the past 8 years, he has also served as the President of the University of Chicago Medical Center and the Chief Operating Officer of the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. As a consultant, he was a Senior Partner with Computer Sciences Corporation’s Global Health Solutions and as the founder/CEO of Consulting Concepts, Inc for a total of 22 years. David’s extensive experience includes consulting to over 75 academic medical centers, schools of medicine, faculty practices, and more than 1000 private physician practices and hospitals nationwide. His capabilities include organizational transformations, rapid economic turnarounds, arbitration/dispute resolution, and information technology strategies and implementation. Mr. Hefner received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Brigham Young University. He has served as a panel arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and competed as a Top 10 Nationals Masters swimmer. Mr. Hefner currently serves on the boards of The Wellness Community/Gilda’s Club Worldwide, UnitedHeathcare Children’s Foundation, Heath Care Compliance Strategies, Inc., and United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), Region 7. |
| Jack Wickens | Jack held the position of National Health Plan President for UnitedHealthcare. In 2006 Jack redirected his energies to health care charities, consulting and U.S. Olympic team development. From 1998 to 2003 Jack had Regional President leadership responsibilities Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, Jack was Vice President of Regional Jack serves on the Boards of the Cancer Support Community, Healthways Corporation, UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation and the U.S. Track & Field Foundation. He is a former director for America 's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and for the Nashville Health Care Council. A New Jersey native, Jack is a 1978 Bucknell University graduate. |
| Thomas P. Barbera | Tom retired in December of 2006 as Regional CEO for UnitedHealthcare’s Mid-Atlantic region. Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, Tom was the Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board of Mid-Atlantic Medical Services, Inc (MAMSI), a regional, publicly traded managed health care company. Prior to serving as CEO at MAMSI, Tom served as an Executive Vice President of MAMSI and President of MAMSI Life and Health Insurance Company. Tom was the founding father of the MAMSI Children’s Foundation, the precursor to the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation. Prior to joining MAMSI, Tom was in the private practice of law in Baltimore, Maryland, having left public service where he served as Maryland’s Deputy Insurance Commissioner. |
| David S. Wichmann | Mr. Wichmann joined UnitedHealth Group in 1998 and is currently Executive Vice President, UnitedHealth Group and President, UnitedHealth Group Operations. He previously held positions at UnitedHealth Group as President, Commercial Markets Group, President and Chief Operating Officer, UnitedHealthcare, President and Chief Executive Officer, Specialized Care Services, and Senior Vice President, Corporate Development. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group in 1998, Mr. Wichmann was a partner with Arthur Andersen. Mr. Wichmann is a board member of the YMCA of Metropolitan Minneapolis, the Minnesota Orchestral Association, the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation, Sedgwick CMS and Tennant Company. |
| Jeannine Rivet, R.N., MPH | As Executive Vice President of UnitedHealth Group, Jeannine Rivet works with and on behalf of all business segments in areas focused on strategic and business relationship management, customer and public relations, military health and social responsibility as well as UnitedHealth Group’s executive liaison to the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare Corporation, Jeannine was Vice President for Group Operations at Prudential Insurance Company in Boston, Massachusetts and has held various other managed care and nursing positions. Jeannine received a Masters in Public Health from Boston University. She also holds a B.S. in Nursing from Boston College and was a registered nurse for several years prior to entering the managed care industry. She is on the Executive Council of UnitedHealth Group and numerous industry leadership boards and councils as well as a mentor to women in business through the Minnesota Menttium program. She has been recognized by Fortune magazine, Minnesota’s City Business, Boston University School of Public Health, Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal and AAHP. She is a driving force in challenging the industry to enhance health and well being through information, collaboration, and advancement of optimal healthcare decisions for patients and healthcare professionals. |
